Gordon Murchison

81, Sydney It is with great sadness that we, the family of Gordon Lloyd Murchison, born May 15, 1927, announce his passing Sunday, June 8, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family. He was employed with the Sydney Steel Corp., until his retirement in 1987. Gordon was a son of the late Neil and Elizabeth (Henneberry) Murchison and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Dad is survived by sons, Kenny (Diane), David (Lorraine), Billy (Ann Marie) and Donnie, who was also a great caregiver to dad; daughters, Donna and Gail (Charles); 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary ‘Mamie’ (Donovan), daughters, Carol Ann, Teresa and Frances, sons, Larry and Allan, grandchildren, Harry and Carl, brothers, Murdoch, Robert, Carl, Lloyd and Donald, and one sister, Isobel. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held for family and friends Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Resurrection Cemetery.
