Grand River, N.S. March 10, 1950-June 9, 2008 We regret to announce the unexpected death of Eric James Downing, formerly of Shawinigan, Quebec. He was the son of Douglas and the late Hazel Downing. Eric is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Sam, Ben and John; daughters, Anatasia and Nicole; sisters, Joan and Anne and brother, Sam. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Barrett Clair Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation. Donations may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care. Family flowers only please. Arrangements are under the direction of the Alex. A. Morrison Funeral Home, St. Peter’s.
