Celina Catherine Lahey

Nov. 1, 1935-June 13, 2008 We regret to announce the death of Celina Catherine Lahey, formerly of Port Morien. She was the daughter of the late John David and Mary Susan (Nearing) Lahey. Celina was retired from Hoppers Grocery in Port Morien. She contributed to her community and her church. She loved family gatherings at her home. Her favourite pastime was digging clams and fishing smelt in the community of Port Morien. She is survived by brothers, Cecil Lahey (Bee), Ontario, Michael, Ontario, John David, at home; sisters, Jenny Allison (Hal), Ontario, Florence MacDoanld (All MacDougall), Glace Bay. Predeceased by her parents, brother, Jim, and sister, Margaret. She loved her nephews, John, Ken and Charles MacDonald. Visitation for the late Celina Lahey will be held Tuesday, June 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 18 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Port Morien, with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only.
