74, Florence Robert Gregory Nugent, 74, Florence passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital, Halifax. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Elenaor (Fletcher) Nugent, sister, Nancy Gordon and Lovey Jackson, brothers, Edward, Leroy and Allister Nugent. Robert is survived by daughters, Cindy (Wayne) Jessome, Cathy (Steve) Semeniuk, Alma (Dennis) Murray, Eleanor (Winston) Blackwood and Terri Lynn Nugent; sons, Robert Nugent Jr., George (Lynn) Nugent, Donald (Connie) Nugent, Ron (Christopher Dawson) Nugent; sisters, Alma (late Russie) Ashe, Wendy (Jonny) Simpson; brothers, Michael and John Nugent. Robert had 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. During Robert’s lifetime, he was an active member in the air force, where he took on the role of a chef. He worked as a coal miner for several years and left to take a job with CN Marine Railway, where he stayed until he retired. Robert was an active member as a volunteer firefighter in Sydney Mines, where he always loved to hang out with the boys and keep up to date on the town’s news. Robert loved all his nine children 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also loved his good friends, Pat, Buddy and Ceryl, and several of his nieces and nephews including Tommy John and Little Alma. He will be greatly missed by all and will forever be in all our hearts. Rest in peace dad, we love you. Cremation has taken place and there will be a full church service at Saint Stephen’s Church, Florence, Tuesday, June 17 at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Robert Nugent.
