William 'Bill' Chase

74, North Sydney It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Chase, 74, a resident of Regent Street, North Sydney, on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Niagara Falls, Ont., he was a son of the late Roy Anson and Ellen Rachal (Brown) Chase. Bill was employed as chief draftsman with Atomic Energy Canada in Etobicoke, Ont. for many years, later transferring to the heavy water plant in Glace Bay until retirement. Bill is survived by his wife, Joan (Wall) Chase; stepson, Bernie Ingraham, North Sydney; stepdaughter, Kimberly Cairns, Scotland; and by seven grandchildren. Bill was loved and respected by many and will be missed by all. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Monday, 10 a.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A private burial to take place at a later date.
