80, Glace Bay/Halifax Anne Marie ‘Annie’ McKinnon, 80, of Glace Bay and Halifax, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Rod and Katie Bell (MacAulay) Gillis. She was a devout member of St. Mary’s Basilica, Halifax. She is survived by her stepdaughters, Dawn (Bruce) MacKeigan, Valerie (Glenn) Crowdis; grandchildren, Lisa Ripley (Brian), David MacKeigan (Christina McCarthy), Jeanne Crowdis (Daniel Pitcher) and Lori Beth Crowdis. Lovingly referred to as ‘Nannie Annie’, she will be missed by great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Fallon and Mary Jean Ripley, Kinnon Pitcher, Ella and Ciaran MacKeigan; sisters, Alice (Ray) Campbell, Sydney, Shirley (Roland) Lauzon, Ontario, Jeanette Zucco, New York, Joan (Don) MacNeil, Massachusetts, Florence (Dennis) Seward, Massachusetts, Carol (Charlie) Reed, New Hampshire, Sandra (Blaise) MacNeil, Massachusetts, Margie (Anthony) MacNeil, Massachusetts; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, C.R. McKinnon, sister, Mary (Joe) Steele, brothers, Charlie (Lorna) Gillis, Michael ‘Bud’ (Eileen) Gillis, Roddie (Bev) Gillis and sister, Annie in infancy.
