Membertou April 4, 2008-June 23, 2008 Denzel Noel Richard Basque passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sydney, he was the beloved son of Julie Anne Porter and Tecumseh Basque. Also surviving is a brother, Tecumseh Battiste, Eskasoni; maternal grandparents, Tracey and Terry Paul, Membertou; Ralph and Wanda Porter, New Brunswick; paternal grandmother, Vivian Basque, Eskasoni; godparents, Sophia Basque and Jay Dennis and a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Layla Patience. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25 starting at 4 p.m. at the home of grandparents, Tracey and Terry Paul, 51 Bradley St., Membertou. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Daniel Church with Rev. Donald MacGillivary officiating. Interment in Membertou Memorial Gardens.
