65, Prime Brook After a long battle with cancer, the fight is over and now you can rest in peace. Ruthie left us Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dutch Brook, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maimie (Archibald) Squires. Ruthie is survived by her husband, Murdock Earl Ferguson; daughter, Wendy (Grant) Mann; two sons, Jimmie Ferguson and Randy Ferguson, both of Sydney; her precious grandchildren, Savannah and Breton. She is also survived by her two sisters, Margie (late Jim) Bingley, Dartmouth, Ethel (Frenchie) Sampson, Sydney; as well as several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Tippy. By Ruth’s request cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2 from 7-9 p.m. at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. A private interment in Oakfield Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit Cape Breton Regional.
