94, Glace Bay/Antigonish Mary C. MacNeil, 94, of MacIsaac Road, Antigonish and formerly of Glace Bay, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008, at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Rod G. and Mary Ann (MacNeil) MacIsaac. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mary enjoyed a good hug, was dedicated to her family and took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and will be fondly remembered at the R.K. for her beautiful smile. She is survived by daughters, Mary Jane (Keith Allen), Dartmouth, Marg (Gerald MacIsaac), Antigonish; sons, Bill (Niecy), Lower Sackville, Greg (Sharon), Sydney, Ron (Marsha), Westmount, Michael (Pat), Dartmouth, Gerard, Halifax, Hugh (Linda), Halifax; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Roderick J. (Roddie Hector), brothers, Donald, Rev. Frank and Michael and stepmother, Mary Jane MacIsaac. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 1, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish. Funeral mass will be celebrated today (Wednesday, July 2) at 1 p.m. in St. Ninian’s Cathedral with Rev. Tom MacNeil presiding. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
