RONALD E. GRAHAM

GRAHAM, RONALD E. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 3rd, 2002, Ronald Earnest Graham of Saint John West, husband of Mary Boyd (Anthony) Graham. Born in Juvenile Settlement, NB, son of the late Arthur and Mabel (Worden) Graham. Ronald was a graduate of Provincial Normal School, Class of 1943, as well as a graduate of UNB, with a BA in 1971 and a BED in 1973. He went on to teach in various schools for 40 years in areas such as Perth-Andover, Juvenile Settlement and Saint John. He was the only Principal at Denis Morris Memorial School, 1948 - 1983. Ronald was a member of the NB Society of Retired Teachers Saint John Branch. He was also active in the past in the Junior Chamber International (Senator 973), Saint John School Boy Hockey Assoc., Lancaster Minor Hockey Assoc. Ronald was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Lancaster Branch #69, serving as President for 3 years. His involvement with speed skating began with being President of the Saint John Club for four years as well as the NB Assoc. for twelve years. He then went on to be a national board member and life member for the Canadian Amateur Speed Skating Assoc. Ronald was a Staff Sergeant in the Signal Corp of the Canadian Militia. He also held other executive positions and committee chairs with many organizations. Ronald was an avid hunter and fisherman, had an enjoyment for cooking, carpentry, playing guitar, collecting stamps and coins. Surviving besides his wife Mary are his children Stephen of Victoria, BC; Debby Fisher (Rod) of Calgary, AB; Rodney, Linda Oliver (Jack), step-daughters Tina O'Neill (Paul), all of Saint John and Kelly Anthony of Ottawa, grandsons, Christopher and Allan Fisher, Leslie Graham, granddaughters Taylor and Camryn O'Neill, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald was predeceased by two brothers Clifford and Gordon and his first wife Norma Nixon (Graham). Resting at Castle"Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, NB (506-634-1701) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Friday, November 8th, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. The interment will follow in Patterson United Church Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home will be on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A veterans tribute service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lancaster Branch #69 Wheelchair Van Fund or the charity of the donors' choice.
