BROWN, MIRIAM ELIZABETH - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on December 4, 2002, Mrs. Miriam Elizabeth (Rooney) Brown of 1 Haggerty's Cove Road, New River Beach, N. B. wife of Ernest F. Brown. Born at St. Stephen April 15, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Theobald and Kathleen (Hayden) Rooney. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 56 years; seven daughters, Kathleen (Lester) Legacy of New River; Ernestine (Paul) Saulnier of Metaghan, NS; Brenda (George) Tweety of Oshawa, On; Olive (Eldon) Fox of Canterbury; Paula (Blake) Doucette of Pennfield; Mary (Glen) Dow of Woodstock and Dorothy (Wilfred) McAdam of Seeleys Cove, NB; two sons, Ernest Jr. of New River and Ronald (Dawn) of Quispamsis; 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine McNabb and one brother, Theobald Rooney, both of St. Andrews; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters. Miriam enjoyed watching birds and knitting. She loved all holidays, but her favorite time of the year was Christmas. When Santa arrived in Haggerty's Cove on Christmas Eve she never missed a visit. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street. St. George, NB (755-3533) from where the family will receive friends and relatives on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Saturday at 2 PM, with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.
