Nellie (Urquhart) MacLennan

96, Dartmouth Nellie (Urquhart) MacLennan, nee MacLeod, of Dartmouth, N.S., passed away on July 6, 2008, at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Angus D. and Emma (MacKenzie) MacLeod. Surviving are her children, Diane (Gordon) McKeen and Barry (Barbara) Urquhart; stepsons, Lyle (Diana) MacLennan and Duncan (Marilyn) MacLennan and niece, Pat MacNeil. Nellie was predeceased by husbands, Neil Urquhart (1976) and Murdoch MacLennan (1988), son, Donald (1966), sisters, Kay MacKinlay and Rachel MacLeod and brothers, Donald MacLeod and Kenzie MacLeod. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Rachael (Brian) Tabor, Alex (Elena) Swift, Matthew Urquhart (Josh Gaudet), Ellen Urquhart (Chris Collins), Kenzie Urquhart and great-grandchildren, Donald and Stuart Tabor and Clara, Andrew, Laura and Robert Swift. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial service will be held at Stairs Memorial United Church, Dartmouth, July 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sarah Reaburn and Vincent Ihasz officiating. Reception to follow. Prayers and words of comfort to be offered at Trinity United Church, Sydney, July 15 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Lorna MacQueen officiating. Reception to follow. Internment at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, July 16 at 10 a.m., family only.
