81, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmel Cole on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the Glace Bay Health Care Facility. Born in Inverness on May 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Clohtalea Poirier. Carmel was a member of Holy Cross parish, Glace Bay. She was a lover of music and enjoyed dancing. Carmel is survived by one daughter, Patricia ‘Doll’ Cole, Ontario; three grandchildren, Carmel, Michael and Billy and one great-grandchild, William Ryan; two sisters, Loretta McIntrye, Glace Bay and Mary Georgina Bennett, Quebec. Carmel is also survived by live in companion, Melvin McInnis; along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William in 2006 and 12 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 17 all in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, with Fr.
