SHAW, REV. ROBERT ELWELL - The Rev. Robert Elwell Shaw, born in 1910 in Montague, PEI, entered to new life in Jesus Christ on Feb. 4, 2003. Rev. Shaw was ordained a minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) sixty-five years ago and served churches in Canada and the United States. From 1936-1938, he was Minister of the Christian Churches of Back Bay and L'Etete, NB, his first pastorate. He was a graduate of Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown, PEI, Acadia University, Wolfville NS ('36) and Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN ('60). Robert was predeceased by his parents Vernon and Priscilla (Reilly) Shaw, his brothers Sgt. Maj. John N. Shaw and Ellery V. Shaw and his sisters Dorothy M. Shaw and Verna M. Nicholson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Mildred (Cooke) Shaw, formerly of Back Bay, NB, his children Donna (Kenneth) Mackenzie and Daphne (Edward) Dyck, Vancouver, BC and the Rev. Robert D. (Ann) Shaw, Lexington, KY, his grandsons John (Brenda) David and Peter Mackenzie, Peter and Matthew Dyck, Andrew and Daniel Shaw, and his great-grandsons, Kenny and Gregory Mackenzie. A memorial service was held of Feb.9, 2003, at Fairview Baptist Church, Vancouver, BC. Cremation with burial to follow in PEI in the summer of 2003.
