KOTTAS, HELEN P. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 7, 2003 Helen Pearl Kottas of Saint John West wife of the late Charles Kottas. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late William and Lena (Brown) Steen. Helen or "Grandma" loved spending time with her great grandchildren Meredith, Colby, Victoria, Jonathan and Jason. A devoted "West Sider" Helen enjoyed her home and drives in the country, gardening, reading and current events. During the Second World War Helen was employed at the Saint John Armories as a secretary. Special thanks to Dr. Thornhill, Dr. Kerr, Dr. Mowatt, Donna Eastwood and staff of Orthopedics and Surgical Intensive Care of the Saint John Regional Hospital your compassion and kindness is greatly appreciated. Helen is survived by one daughter Monica Ewart and her husband Gary of Quispamsis, two grandchildren Mark Gillan and his wife Mariann of Grand Bay-Westfield and Sara Ewart and Keith Garnett of Quispamsis. Predeceased by her husband Charles and sisters Gwen Pedersen and Jessie May Steen. Resting at the Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Funeral service will be held at the "Fallsview" Chapel on Thursday, April 10, at 1 p.m. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Wednesday April 9, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family. Following the interment a reception will take place at the "Fallsview" Family Reception Center.
