VESEY J. FLECKNELL
FLECKNELL, VESEY J. - Of Grandview Avenue died peacefully on April 23, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Derbyshire, England and was the son of the late Hedley and Ellen (Boylan) Flecknell and husband of Constance (McHugh) Flecknell. Vesey served with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II and was a member of Branch #53 Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by three sons; Patrick (Karen) Flecknell of Ontario, Terry (Lorraine) Flecknell of Nova Scotia, Gerald Flecknell of Saint John, six daughters; Ellen Anderson of Saint John, Linda (Wayne) Foggoa of Darthmouth, NS, Gail (James) Braman of Raymore, Sask., Mary (Thomas) Boucher of Dartmouth, NS, Judy (Greg) Smith of London, ON, Joan Flecknell of Greenwood, NS, two brothers; Neil (Ruby) Flecknell of Bloomfield, Matthew (Mavis) Flecknell of Saint John, one sister Anne (Donnie) Melanson of Saint John, 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son Arthur Hedley Flecknell, one brother Hedley Flecknell and one sister Rosemary "Judy" Lambert. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at A.W. Cavanagh Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street, 634-1712. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at Stella Maris Catholic Church followed by cremation and inurnment at Ocean View Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Reception will be held at Stella Maris church hall after the funeral. A tribute to a Veteran's Service will be held at the funeral home Friday night at 7PM. www.awcavanagh.com
