WHITTAKER, GORDON RAYMOND - The death of Gordon Raymond Whittaker of Summer Street, Saint John occurred on Friday April 25, 2003 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Born May 21, 1935 in Saint John he was the son of the late Kenneth and Winnifred (Hulmes) Whittaker. Gordon worked for McAvity's, Sugar Refinery, Raymond Parker and Levines Recycling. He was also an avid Bingo Player. He is survived by three brothers Kenneth (Marion) of Saint John, Walter (Marilyn) of Saint John and George (Janet) of Dickie Mountain, Norton; one sister Agnes Thompson (Elson) of Quispamsis, special friend and companion Ida Blizzard; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Fred and sister Shirley Whittaker. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday April 29, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
