JOSIE MAE DALZELL

DALZELL, JOSIE MAE - Josie Mae Dalzell, 85 of Castalia, Grand Manan passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Wednesday, May 7th, 2003 following a period of illness. Daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Green) Cossaboom of Saint John, N.B. Mrs. Dalzell was a Telephone Operator and Agent for the Island Telephone which later became N.B. Telephone, a bookkeeper and accountant, an active member of the Castalia Baptist Church and served faithfully as Organist for over thirty years, Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Life Member of the Canadian Heritage Club, a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church Womens Auxiliary, and was a very accomplished Music Teacher, and in addition played in Island Churches and received several awards for her musical talent over the years. Mrs. Dalzell is survived by one daughter, Dolores Ingalls (Wendell) of Beaver Bank, N.S., two sons, Julius (Jim) (Dana) of Oregan, George (Marilyn), High River, Alberta, one brother, Guy Cossaboom (Audrey), Martinon, N.B., five grand children, and two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, August 1956, and one sister, Georgia Harding. The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Friday, May 9th, at 2-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Castalia Baptist Church on Saturday, May 10th, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Scott Lewis officiating assisted by Rev. Howard Anningson. Interment to follow in the family plot Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia, N.B. The family would appreciate donations to the Castalia Baptist Church or the St. Paul's Restoration Fund.
