HAYES, ETHEL IRENE - The death of Ethel I. Hayes, age 87, of Midland, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, Sunday, May 18, 2003. Ethel was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Miles D. Hayes, May 5, 2003. She was the daughter of the late Roland and Dora (Walker) Price. Ethel taught school in many Kings County Schools. During her teaching years she returned to university and achieved her Bachelor of Teaching in 1974, and Bachelor of Education in 1977. She retired from Quispamsis Elementary School in 1981. Ethel was very involved in her local church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Clerk for many years. Ethel is survived by daughters; Annabel and Collin Lewis, Riverview, and Jeanne and Garth MacPhee, Nine Mile Creek, PEI, sons; David and Roberta, Moncton, Daniel and Evelyn and Stephen and Valerie, Midland, seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law; Warren Allaby, two nieces, two nephews and several cousins. Pre-deceased by great-grandsons; Thomas and Caleb Welling and sisters; Grace Allaby and Iola Black. Resting at Midland Baptist Church, 4 Upper Midland Road, Midland, Tuesday, 2 - 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Midland Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Midland Cemetery.
