MATTHEWS, RUTH MILLICENT (STUBBS) - The death of Mrs. Ruth Millicent (Stubbs) Matthews of the Loch Lomond Villa, formerly of 165 Mount Pleasant Ave East, occurred on June 20, 2003, at her residence. Born in Saint John on April 2, 1916, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Lillian (Sterling) Stubbs and attended the Church of St. John and St. Stephen. She trained as a stenographer and for many years was office manager of Canadian Cotton in Saint John. She then worked for Kimberly-Clark until her retirement in 1980. She is survived by a number of cousins. She was predeceased by her husband James E. Matthews in 1986. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
