1944-2008 Glace Bay We, the family of Lucy Ann Locke, age 64, of Fraser Street, Glace Bay, regret to announce her passing on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva (Marchand) Doucette from Reserve Mines. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. Lucy received the most pleasure in life from being in her home, creating and sharing memories of happy times with her family. Lucy also took great pride in being a faithful employee of Dominion and SuperValu Grocery Stores in Sydney and Glace Bay for over 40 years. Lucy is survived by Bill, her loving Husband of 47 years; daughter, Debbie (Brendon); sons, Joe (Cheryl), Glenn (Allison), Calvin (Cyndy) and nine cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole, Joey, Jeffrey, Kaitlyn, Alicia, Billy, Matthew and Kelsey. Lucy is also survived by her sister, Shirley and brothers, Wilfred and Cecil. Visitation for Lucy Locke will he held today (Friday, Aug. 22) from 5-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Ltd., 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23 at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to the Sydney Cancer Centre or St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Reserve Mines.
