WILLIAM CRUDENCE - 1927-2003 SCHOFIELD
SCHOFIELD, WILLIAM CRUDENCE - 1927-2003 - William (Bill) Schofield of Plaster Rock, NB died peacefully at the Tobique Valley Hospital on Sunday July 27, 2003 surrounded by the love of family and friends. Son of the late Crudence and Elsie (Baker) Schofield. Born on April 10, 1927 in Fredericton and raised in Plaster Rock. Beloved husband of M. Joyce (Hall) Schofield and devoted father to Jill (Rich) Couillard of Calgary, Alb., Bill (Margaret) of Cairo Egypt, Mary-Jo (Randy) Arpin of Ottawa, Ont. and Bruce (Nel) of Calgary, Alb.. Adored grandfather to Jessica, Adam, Andrew, Melissa and Cody. Sadly missed by sisters Elsie Burridge, Hazel (Gerald) Bucci and Helen Mae (Bryan) Roberts and his brother Ed (Ethel) Taylor, sister-in-law Jean Mooney and brother-in-law Doug (Anna) Hall. Bill graduated from the Plaster Rock Superior School in 1947. He worked three years with the Royal Bank in Fredericton before joining Fraser Inc. where he worked until retirement in 1988. Bill dedicated himself to his family, friends and community. He invested his energy in many service organizations including the United Baptist Church where he was a dedicated deacon, choir member, and Sunday School Superintendent. Bill was a hockey coach with minor hockey, a scout leader, board member of the Victoria Glen Manor in Perth-Andover, a Director of the Shiktehawk Bible Camp in Bristol and a volunteer ambulance driver. Bill touched the hearts of all who knew him with his kind generosity and gentle spirit. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Barry Wecker, Dr. Mary Pederson and the nursing team of the Tobique Valley Hospital for the special care and personal attention. For those who wish memorial donations to the United Baptist Church in Plaster Rock or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held on Thursday July 31, 2003 at 2 PM from the United Baptist Church with Rev. Lorne Freake officiating.
