BERTHA DOREEN (FLOYD) BOYNE

BOYNE, BERTHA DOREEN (FLOYD) - Died at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 14, 2003 from complications arising from diabetes. Born in Saint John, NB, in 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Anne Sarah (Hider) Floyd. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Boyne, her brother, Robert H. Floyd and sister, Jeune Lewis. "Nanny" or "Nanny B", to her many family and friends, will be remembered for her caring and compassionate ways, quick wit and thoughtful opinions. She was a devoted mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister and aunt. She possessed many endearing qualities but her greatest gift was the rare ability to really listen and that is why so many sought her wise counsel. Nanny was happiest when surrounded by her loving family as she was during the time of her death. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Hatfield (Bob), one son Bill (Missy), eight grandchildren: Bruce, Joe, Terri-Lynn, Mark, Jason, and Jennifer and Stephanie and Colin, fourteen great grand children, one brother, Francis D. Floyd (Irma), nieces and nephews and their families. Nanny was a firm believer in the importance of education and in keeping with that sentiment, if desired, donations may be made to a scholarship fund of the donors' choice or the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family expresses its sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of 5C South and in particular to Drs. Monica and John Brewer and Dr. Christine Pippy. Thank you also to Mrs. Pam Burhoe, Nanny's homecare worker for her professionalism, dedication and above all many years of valued friendship. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday at 12:00 noon from Brenan's Chapel.
