GRACEWOOD, BARBARA H. - Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 16th, 2003; Barbara Helen (Smyth) Gracewood, wife of the late Alfred Raymond Gracewood of Rothesay, NB. Born in Bermandsey, England, she was the daughter of the late Eva Daisy (Thorenson) Smyth. Barbara served with the British Womens Army Corp during World War II and subsequently was a war bride. Barbara is survived by her two sons Michael and his wife Clare of Rothesay and John Ian and his wife Lynn of Abbotsford British Columbia and one daughter Susan Palmer and her husband Rick of Cloverdale, B.C., two grandchildren Raymond and his wife Laura and Jonathan, one great granddaughter Courtney. Special thanks to Nurses and residents of A Wing for making Barb feel so special. A service of remembrance to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at a future date in the chapel of the Loch Lomond Villa with time to be announced.
