MACKIN, PAUL E. - It is with sadness that the family announces the death of Paul E. Mackin, Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday, September, 9th, 2003 at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Loyall & Doreen (Payne) Mackin and is survived by three brothers, Brian (Jane) of Fredericton, Patrick (Lynn), and Gregory, two sisters Brenda (Paul) McGraw and Sharon Byrne, several nieces and nephews. Following graduation from St. Malachy's High School Paul obtained a degree in Architecture from the Nova Scotia School of Technology in 1976. He relocated to Calgary and worked for a couple of Architectural Firms before venturing on his own. After several years working in his field he branched out and became an entrepreneur. By request of the family there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation will take place in Calgary, Alberta, followed by a service of remembrance in Saint John, NB. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September, 15th, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Saint John, NB. The Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
