Hooper 88, Port Caledonia We, the family, regret to announce the passing of Catherine Hooper on Sept. 5, 2008, at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Catherine was born on Aug. 22, 1920, in Dominion. A daughter of the late James and Sarah (Grant) Murrant. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Catherine was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church and a life member of the ladies guild. Catherine is survived by her son, Charles and his wife, Joyce (Murphy), Port Caledonia. Catherine’s pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Annette and Charles. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Charles Hooper Sr. and two sisters, Mae Turner and Edith Turner and one brother, William. Visitation for Catherine will be held Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Patten Funeral Home & Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Port Caledonia, beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev.
