HURLEY, CHARLOTTE EVA - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on October 8, 2003, following a brief illness, Mrs. Charlotte Eva (Smith) Hurley, wife of Leroy Hurley of Lord's Cove, NB. Born on November 8, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Thelma (Fountain) Smith. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Charlotte is survived, besides her husband, by two daughters, Linda (Tim) Stuart of Chamcook, NB, and Pamela (Reid) Cline of Fairhaven, NB; five grandchildren, Bryce and Alyse Stuart, and Mark, Dayna, and Alex Cline; two brothers, Goldwin (Patricia) Smith of Lord's Cove, NB and Donald (Genevive) Smith of Woodland, Maine; one sister, Rheta (Ralph) Hayman of London, Ontario; one brother-in-law, William (Mattie) Hurley of Lord's Cove, NB; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Conley of Leonardville, NB and Gloria Hurley of Chamcook, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Charlotte was a member of the Leonardville Church of Christ and the Women's Institute. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ with visiting on Friday from 7-9. The service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Combs and Rev. Geoff Conley officiating. In Charlotte's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
