CHRISTINE CUNNINGHAM

CUNNINGHAM, CHRISTINE- Sackville, The death of Dr. Christine Cunningham, age 62, of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 11, 2003. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, USA, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Marion (Haynes) Cole. Christine was a graduate of the University of Michigan and Emory University with a Phd. in Mathematics. She came to Mt. Allison in 1966 as an assistant professor in Mathematics and she also taught at Sweet Briar College, Virginia, and had a teaching career spanning a period of 30 years. She was an active member of the Sackville United Church and enjoyed musical interests in the church choir, various choral societies (Mt A), the Drew Quartet and was a member of the NB Choral Federation. She had been very involved in Cumberland ITC for many years. Christine will be sadly missed by her husband, Bill Cunningham, Sackville, two sons: Martin (Tara) Treash, Orillia, ON, Andrew (Melissa) Treash, College Station, Texas, two daughters: Kathy (Andrew) Treash, Sackville and Susan Treash, Fall River, Mass., four step-sons: William Cunningham, Guelph, ON, Norbert Cunningham and Randall (Christine) Cunningham, both of Moncton and Bruce Cunningham, Regina, three step-daughters: Marilyn Cunningham and Michelle (Edward) Cunningham, both of Moncton and Lorinda Cormier, Regina, three brothers: David (Mimi) Cole, John (Carolina) Cole and Forrest Cole, all of Deerfield, Illinois and 15 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Treash and by a brother, Steve. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville with visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Sackville United Church on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 2pm, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.
