Peter MacKeigan

Sydney Peter MacKeigan passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at the age of 84. Peter was born in Sandfield to the late Dan and Willena (MacDonald) MacKeigan. He was a bachelor of commerce graduate from Dalhousie University and a chartered accountant who was employed with Revenue Canada for over 30 years. Peter is survived by his children, Donald, Montreal, and Kathy (Ritchie) MacCoy, Sydney, and his beloved granddaughter, Annie MacCoy. He is also survived by his niece, Willena (Joe) Nemeth and her family, and his brother-in-law, George Mikkelsen. He was predeceased by Helen, his wife of over 50 years, a son in childbirth and his sister, Flora Mikkelsen. Peter was a kind and gentle soul, a devoted husband and a proud and loving father and grandfather. A special thank you to Ann Raoul and Nancy Eldridge for their care and devotion. A memorial service will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Saturday, 11 a.m. with a reception to follow in the hall.
