Derek Paul Deline

31, Sydney Mines It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a wonderful husband and father, Derek Deline, who passed away Sept. 8, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in St. Catharines, and formerly of Niagara Falls, he was the son of Charlene and Al Pearson, and Ronald Deline. He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines. Derek was well liked and admired by his many friends and co-workers at Wal-Mart in Sydney River, where he worked for many years. Derek is survived by his loving wife, Laura (Burt) Deline and their children, Jenna and Tyler Deline. He is also survived by his parents, Charlene and Al Pearson, and Ronald Deline; his two brothers, Ronnie Deline and Patrick Pearson; his grandmothers, Barbara Mayer, Patricia Deline, and Nancy Lynds; his grandfather, Eric Lynds and his niece; Cloe. Also left to mourn are his mother and father-in-law, Christina and Harry Burt; brother-in-law, Steven Burt and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Ronald Deline and Patrick Mayer. Visitation for Derek Deline will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, Friday, Sept. 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Queen Street, Sydney Mines, with the Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Derek’s memory may be made to his family.
