John Stephen Lawrence Evans

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Stephen Lawrence Evans, 24, in a tragic vehicle accident on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, in Australia. He is survived by his mother, Betty, Calgary; his father, Wayne (Jo-Anne MacIntosh), Sambro Head, N.S.; his grandmother, Alice Evans; his aunts and uncles, Bruce, Dave, Patti and Allan, Kenny and Betty, Kim and the late Paul Evans; and cousins, Clayton, Haylee, Camden, Tammy, Jason, Mitchell, Michelle and Jason. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Margaret Tainsh, grandfather, Jack Evans and uncle, Paul Evans. Steve was living his dream spendig a year travelling in Australia. He loved life, was outgoing and made friends wherever he went. He was a huge Flames fan and his home was ‘street hockey central.’ He especially loved and leaves behind many many close friends from his days at William Aberhart High School where he graduated in 2002, and at Mount Royal College where he obtained a bachelors degree in International Business Studies and Supply Chain Management in 2007. A celebration of Stephen’s life will take place Thursday, Sept. 18 St. David’s United Church, 3303 Capitol Hill Crescent NW, Calgary, Alta., T2M 2R2, 403-284-2276 at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. John Griffiths officiating. Donations can be made in Stephen’s memory to St. Alban’s Parish Church, Whitney Pier.
