59, Sydney Gordon Wayne ‘Bucky’ LeDrew, 59, of Rockcliff Crescent, Sydney, passed away quietly at his residence with his loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Hubert and Dorothy (Dugid) LeDrew. Gordon was an excellent mechanic who owned/operated Mid Town Auto, with his lifelong friends and best buddies, Thomas Hawco and Thomas Hayes. Gordon loved his family. They were the reason he worked many long hours. Surviving are his wife, Karen (McLean); daughters, Kim Thistle (Ed), Sydney, Shelley McLean (Roger), Calgary, Sheila McLean (Darren), Ft. McMurray; sons, David, Calgary, Daniel, Toronto, Kyle, Calgary and the ‘sunshine of his life’ Thomas, at home; sisters, Marlene, Donna and Carol; brother, John (Wanda), Bras d’Or; special sister-in-law, Wanda Murrin; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his son, John and brother, James. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wade Reppert officiating.
