MOORE, M. WAYNE - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday December 5, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer, M. Wayne Moore husband of Kathy (Clark) Moore of Saint John. Born in Saint John he is the son of Mrs. Beatrice Moore of Saint John and the late Murray V. Moore. An active member of Hillcrest United Baptist Church where he had served for many years as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Senior Choir and on several Boards and Committees. His work in the community included an active part in Habitat for Humanity. He was active in softball, hockey, and coached minor hockey. He was an avid Bluegrass music fan. Wayne graduated from Saint John High School and Mars Hill College, Asheville North Carolina. Wayne owned and operated Moore Homes Inc. and was a member of the Canadian Homebuilders Association, the New Brunswick Homebuilders Assoc. and served as President of the Saint John Homebuilders Assoc. in 1998-1999. He received the Canadian Homebuilder of the Year Award in 1997 and numerous other awards in the field of R2000 energy efficient homes. Surviving in addition to his wife Kathy and his mother Beatrice are two sons; Duane (Katie) Moore of Saint John, Dale (Jennifer) Moore of Saint John, three grandchildren; Clark, Paige and Jacob, one sister; Wanda (Zeldon) Cross of Grand Bay, several nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). Funeral Service will be held 2 pm Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
