KENNETH H. COLWELL
COLWELL, KENNETH H. - Kenneth H. Colwell 86, of Camden Park, Moncton and formerly of 21 Crystal Dr., Riverview and Fredericton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday December 8, 2003. Born in Moncton, son of the Late David and Mary Elizabeth (Thibault) Colwell. Ken was a retired C.N.R. Carman with 40 years service, having worked in Napadogan, South Devon and Moncton. He was a member of Gibson Memorial Church, Fredericton, where he was a former Elder, Head Usher, Men's Club member and Boys Group Leader. While in Riverview, he was a member of the Bridgedale Seniors, The Incredible Singing Group, an avid Bowler at Parklanes and attended The Salvation Army Citadel (Moncton) and was a member of the C.N. Pensioners Association. Ken will be sadly missed by his daughter: Eleanor Hutchinson (Fred), Bass River Point: Grandchildren: Brian Hutchinson (Lynn), Heather Warman (Lee), Bass River Point: Great Grandson: Evan Hutchinson: Step Great Granddaughter; Brooke Lawson. Brother: Gerald Colwell (Bernice), Durham Bridge: Brother-In-Law: Neil Astle, Dartmouth, NS: Nieces: Barbara Flaherty, Dartmouth: Joan Astle, Yellowknife, NW: Marie Colwell, Fredericton. Also survived by very special friend Muriel Smith, Riverview. Predeceased by his wife Doris (Cookson) Colwell (1970). For the past 2 years Ken has resided at Camden Park Terrace, where he enjoyed the companionship and love of residence and staff alike. He had a ready smile for everyone. Ken embodied the true meaning of gentleness. He loved little children and was a very loving father to "his Sally" and husband Fred and an extremely proud and doting Grandfather to his Grandchildren. In his retirement he loved driving his car, touring the countryside and taking in Fall Fairs, Suppers and Ivan Hicks Concerts. While his health allowed, he enjoyed bowling, singing with "The Incredibles", playing cards with the Bridgedale Seniors. As anyone can tell you he was a loyal Toronto Blue Jay Fan and followed them faithfully with an enthusiasm that continued until October of this year. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday December 11, 2003, 1:30pm Rev. Beth Johnson officiating. Refreshments following the Service. Interment, Stanley United Church Cemetery.
