Paul Francis Beaton

Sydney/Yellowknife 1969-2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, Paul, on Sept. 17, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul, youngest son of Mae (Binns) and Allister ‘Bo’ Beaton of Westmount, was born in Sydney, Cape Breton, Feb. 21, 1969. He graduated from Riverview High School and UCCB. Paul was active in many sports including baseball, soccer and football, both as a player and later as a coach. Paul spent most of his working life in the food business initially with Sobeys, then SuperValu locally. Following brief stints with the CFIA and later in business with his brother, Al; Paul, returned to the food business with Loblaws in Yellowknife. Paul’s greatest joy in life was as husband to Pam (Weeks) and father to their four children, Connor (10), Delaney (8), Anghus (3) and Sophie (1). Paul is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Jane Coady and his siblings, Ed (Jan), Sydney, Nancy, Halifax, Terry Chasse, Westmount, Al (Daphne), Richmond, Va., Mary Jane (Daniel) Morrison, Westmount. Paul was a man of passionately held convictions, who lived his life with strength, courage, integrity and great concern for the welfare of those close to him. As a celebration of his life and indomitable spirit, there will be a memorial service, Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Westmount, followed by a reception at 3 p.m. at Westmount legion. He brought us love, laughter and tears. We loved him dearly. Life, Laugh, Love; Faith, Family, Friends; Paul.
