PORTER, ELEANOR "NELLIE" (MATTSON) - Of Kennebec Manor Nursing Home, died peacefully on December 25th, 2003. She was born in Saint John and was the wife of the late Alden Porter and daughter of the late William and Violet Mattson. Eleanor was a life-long member of the Ladies Auxillary, Legion Branch #53. She is survived by one daughter Carol Martin (Bryan), one son John Mattson and six grandchildren: Robin, Lori and Wayne Martin and Gregory, Stephen and Sylvia Mattson, four great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Also survived by seven step children, Leslie, Cheryl, Marsha, Elizabeth, Gary, Darryl, and Graydon Porter. Predeceased by one step son Glendon Porter and several brothers and sisters. Resting at A.W. Cavanagh Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) with visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in Cavanagh's Chapel followed by a reception at the funeral home. The interment will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Ocean View Cemetery. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
