(HAMM) A. BURPEE SHILLINGTON

SHILLINGTON, (HAMM) A. BURPEE - The death of Burpee Shillington occurred at his residence, 219 Ellerdale St. on January 5, 2004. Born in Saint John in 1913, he ran various business interests including a family farm and milk business as well as Burp's Esso and Coastal Bearings Ltd until his retirement in 1985. Burpee was a lifelong member of Silver Falls United Church and held various positions within the church organization, including Clerk of Session and life member of the Unified Board. As well; for 60 years, he was a member of Masonic Temple, Hibernia Lodge No. 3. Burpee is survived by his two sons Fred (Dawn) and Jim (Joan); five grandchildren Krista Shillington, Neil (Laurie) Shillington, Jay (Cindy) Shillington, Janelle Shillington and Johanna Shillington; four great grandchildren Sara, Gregory, Devin and Courtney, as well as his brother Ralph Hamm and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera in 1997, as well as his brother, Clarence Hamm and sisters Lillian Moore, Gertrude French, Margaret Barr Whittaker and Vera Macdonald. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday January 6 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday January 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday January 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Silver Falls United Church Memorial Fund, The Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
