RITA DESJARDINS

DESJARDINS, RITA - At the Grand Falls Manor, January 8, 2004, Mrs. Rita Desjardins of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 83 years. She was the wife of the late Alexandre Desjardins. Born at Drummond in 1920, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Aurore (Ouellette) Desjardins. Mrs. Desjardins was a retired teacher. She was a member of the Grand Falls Golden Age Club and a former reader and eucharistic minister of her parish. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anne-Marie Desjardins Bossé, one sister, Lilianne, three brothers, Roland, Rene and Raymond Desjardins. She is survived by two daughters, Jocelyne Desjardins of Fredericton and Rita Desjardins Baker (Alton) of Medford, three sons, Rev. Raymond Desjardins, redemptorist, of Montreal, Allain (Deb Petersen) of Calgary, Alberta and Rheal (Francine Patry) of Longueuil, Quebec, son in law, Clarence Bossé of Ottawa, 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, Gertrude Pagé of Blainville, Quebec, Fernand (Anne) of Edmundston, Sister Georgette Desjardins, r.h.s.j., of Montreal, Henri-Paul (Alice) of Oshawa, Ontario, Sister Adrienne Desjardins, r.h.s.j., of Colchester, Vermont, Jeannette Boucher of Montreal, Sister Alfreda Desjardins, r.h.s.j., of Tracadie-Sheila, Claude (Lucille) of Grand Falls and Louis (Emily) of Hazeldean, as well as nieces and nephews. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 10th at 3 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment in the Assumption cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Redemptorist missions, the Assumption parish or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.oregans.ca
