Capt. Douglas Howard MacLellan
36, Bay St. Lawrence We are sorry to announce the passing of one of the kindest, most generous men that God ever put upon the earth, Douglas Howard MacLellan of Bay St. Lawrence. He always had a smile and a helping hand for anyone. He was a very loving father and devoted husband, a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He was taken far too soon and will be forever loved and missed. Dougie passed away in his sleep at home on Friday, Sept. 26, 2008. He was a member of St. Margaret’s parish, was a former member of the Bay St. Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department and other local volunteer organizations. Dougie was employed as a lobster and crab fisherman. He is survived by his father, Robert; stepmother, Theresa Buchanan; his mother, Twila MacNeil; stepfather, Leonard Forrest; his wife, Veronica; daughter, Miranda Leigh MacLellan. Also surviving are his sister, Theresa MacLellan (Daniel Williams); brothers, Donald MacNeil (Denise), Cole MacLellan (Corrine MacKinnon); nephew, Donnie MacNeil; niece, Marley MacNeil; nephews, Carter MacLellan, Chase MacLellan, and his special nephew and godson, Cameron Cole MacLellan; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Allan and Donna Bonnar. He was predeceased by his brother, Robbie MacLellan. Visitation will be held at the residence of his father Robert MacLellan in Bay St. Lawrence after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Mass will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. from St. Margaret’s Parish Church, St. Margaret’s Village, Rev. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial under the direction of Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, will be in the parish cemetery. As memorials, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
