89, Sampsonville, Richmond County It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Genevieve, who passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born Jan. 3, 1919, in Sampsonville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Sampson) Sampson. Genevieve was a member of St. Peter’s parish, St. Peter’s, where she was active for many years in the Catholic Church Altar Society. She was also active in the Sampsonville Community Club and volunteered for many other community groups. Genevieve was one of the first 4-H leaders in Richmond County. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Henry; daughters, Sylvia (Ken) Gray, Saint John, N.B., Georda (Richie) Boyd, Maureen (Leonard) Whitty, Gail (George) Landry, all of Sampsonville, Glenda (David) Sampson, River Bourgeois, Cheryl (Donny) Richards, Hammonds Plains; sons, George, Carstairs, Alta., Clifford (Debbie), Byron (Jamie), Darren (Gloria), all of Sampsonville, Clayton (Cathy), Lower Sackville; 26 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lila (Charlie) Carter, Sampsonville, Peggy Savoy, St. Peter’s; brother, Theodore (Ellen) Sampson, Sampsonville; numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She was predeceased by daughter, Sharon and son-in-law, Billo Burke, son, Carl, grandson, Nelson, great-granddaughter, Tiffany, sisters, Melinda, Beatrice, Grace, Delrosa, Melinda in infancy, brothers, Enos, Patrick, Bernard, Whiley, DY, Martin. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 26 Centennial St., St. Peter’s. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m., Friday in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Everett MacDow officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please.
