
Carl Raymond Wadden

Jan. 12, 1909-Oct. 2, 2008 Carl passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Port Morien, Carl lived in Glace Bay most of his life, he was the son of the late George and Elva Wadden. Carl served in the Canadian Army. He was a carpenter foreman for many years. He worked for the Nova Scotia Housing Commission until retirement. Carl was also a member of Thistle Lodge #36 and was master in 1964. He was the last surviving member of his family. Carl is survived by his son, Raymond and daughter-in-law, Greta, with whom he resided; also son, Clyde (Hazel), Ottawa and daughter, Gloria Jenson, Hanover, Ont. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his wife, Milley in 2005 and son, Fred in 2008. Carl was also predeceased by his brothers, Sidney, Allanby, Charles, Floyd and Neil; sisters, Rea, Minnie, Clara and George. Visitation for the late Carl Wadden will take place on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic service will take place at 6:45 p.m. before the visitation on Sunday. Funeral service will take place on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Goodfellow officiating. Internment in Forest Haven memorial gardens, Grand Lake Road.
