PAYNE, JOHN WILLIAM- The death of John William Payne of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, January 20th, 2004. Born in Campbellton, NB, he is the son of Yvonne (Roy) Payne and the late Leo Payne and husband of Susan (Sloan) Payne. John was a retired School Teacher having taught at Devon Junior High and Nashwaak Junior High. John was well respected and liked by his co-workers and many students. Survived by his wife, Susan, his children, Jennifer at home and Stephen of Halifax, NS, his mother Yvonne Payne of Campbellton, NB, two sisters, Paula Payne of St. John's, NF and Maureen Gabinet (Gerry) of Edmonton, AB, two brothers, Roy Payne (Dianne) of Placentia, NF, and Bliss Payne of Campbellton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on Thursday, January 22nd, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Holy Family Parish on Friday, January 23rd at 10:00 am. Rev. Bernard Sloan will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Hermitage Cemetery.
