55, Sydney River It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Teresa Smith, Sydney River, Oct. 4, 2008. Born in Grand Mira South, she was the youngest daughter of the late Harry and Annie (MacIntyre) Thomas. Teresa was a member of Our Lady of Fatima parish. She was a kind and caring person where passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Teresa will be greatly missed by her husband, George Keats; their four children, Karen (Terry) Lawrence, Howie Centre, Terrance (Tracy) Smith, Calgary, Janice (Owen Cunningham), Howie Centre and Mary (Chris Marks), Sydney River. Her greatest joy in life was her six grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Nicholas, Dylan, Katie and Jacqueline. Also left to mourn her passing are her brother-in-law, Junior Briand, Liverpool as well as Debbie (Marvin) Burke, Barra Head, Jimmie (Bertha) Smith, Northside East Bay; best friend and confidante, Marie Cash, Irish Cove and a great many relatives, friends and extended family. Besides her parents, she was a predeceased by her brothers, John and Eugene, sister-in-law, Helen Thomas and brother-in-law, Neil Gillis. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River, with Fr. Will MacPherson officiating. Interment to take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. If friends wish, memorials donations may be made to Crohn’s/Colitis Foundation or charity of choice.
