66, Sydney It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Warren MacDonald, Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at the An Cala Centre, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Mrs. Hazel MacDonald, Glace Bay and the late Angus MacDonald. Warren was a member of Gordon United Church, Glace Bay. He was educated at MacKay’s Corner School, Morrison High, and Teachers College in Truro. He was employed with the Canada Manpower Centre until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family in Mira and in Prince Edward Island. He also enjoyed being in his workshop. Besides his mother, Hazel, Warren is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Irene (Stevenson); his three children, Eunice MacDonald, Maxine MacDonald (Joe) and Keith (Donelda) MacDonald, all of Sydney; two sisters, Isabel Morrison, Elinor ‘Leah’ (Reg) Skanes, both of Glace Bay; two brothers, Clifford (Carol) MacDonald, Ontario, Glen (MaryJo) MacDonald, N.B.; three precious grandchildren, Travis, Rachelle and Teela; as well as close family friends, Jim ‘Marty’ and Cathy O’Rourke; many nieces and nephews and his furry friends, Chevy, Sissy and Shadow. Besides his father Angus, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ervin Morrison. Visitation will take Monday, Oct. 6 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Martha MacDonald officiating. Reception to follow. Interment in Oakfield Cemetery, Mira.
