HANSON, JACKSON G. - The death of Jackson G. Hanson, husband of Diane (McAleenan) Hanson, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday February 6, 2004. Born in St. Stephen NB. He was the son of the late Jack and Sadie (Fiander) Hanson. Jackson was the former School Superintendent for District 36 Dalhousie NB and he later retired as District 21, 22 and 23 Superintendent, St. Stephen NB. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons: Stephen and family of Toronto ON, and Peter Hanson and family of Kingston ON; two daughters Deanna Merrill of St. Cloud, Florida and Stephanie Hanson of Fredericton NB; seven grandchildren Michael, Rebecca, Thomas Jackson, Karina, Stephen, Joshua and Lauren Ashley; five step-grandchildren Joanne, Jody-Anne, Johnny, Hilary, Tyler and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one brother, Keith Hanson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton NB on Monday February 9, 2004 from 7 - 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the T. Gordon McLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 2pm with Don Thompson and David McAleenan officiating.
