94, Glace Bay Through her ninety-four (94) years, we feel privileged to have enjoyed a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A resident of Victoria Haven, May passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex. Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Annie MacNeil. A former member of the Glace Bay Pensioners’ Club, May was recognized as a wonderful dancer and also enjoyed cards, bingo, darts and other group activities. She is survived by her children, Maureen ‘Rene’, Kevin, James and Laurentia; sisters, Laurentia O’Brien and Eleanor Lord. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel; children, Lorna, Dan, Patrick and John; brothers, John Joe and Danny; sisters, Rita, Julia, Josie, Evelyn and Agnes. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, with burial following in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to your charity of choice.
