FRANCIS PATRICK (FRANK) LANIGAN

LANIGAN, FRANCIS PATRICK (FRANK) - Francis Patrick (Frank) Lanigan of Ocean Westway, Saint John West passed away surrounded by his family February 20, 2004. Born in Bloomfield, New Brunswick on July 6, 1919 the first son of Francis Joseph Lanigan of Waterford, Ireland and Annie (Hodgin) of Bloomfield. Husband of 64 years to his loving wife Evelyn Mary Comeau. Children James (Betty) of Welsford, Judy Buchanan (Wayne) of Quispamsis, Patrick (Nancy) of Quispamsis, Carol Arbeau (Russell) of Lepreau, Michael (Yvette) of Quispamsis, Tony (Maureen) of Rothesay, Leah Leavitt (Rick) of Mushquash, Beverly Floyd (Peter) of Quispamsis, Dawn Alexander (Gary) of Lorneville, Kenneth of Saint John, and 29 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Sisters Margaret Neil of NFLD, Ann O'Keefe and Theresa Northorp (Murray) of Saint John, brothers Christopher and Lee of Ontario. Predeceased by sons Francis Luke and Paul Joseph, sisters Eileen Leidstrom, Marion Dickie, Elsie Seely and brothers Joseph, Robert and Edward. Frank was a long standing member of the parish of Saint Rose of Lima. He was employed by City Transit for 26 years, and a 50 year member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1182. For 15 years he owned and operated his own excavating and plowing company and for 10 years he delivered mail in the local communities. Frank was also a veteran of WWII. Resting at the CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Rose of Lima Church Milford Road on Monday at 10:30 am. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations to the Parkinson Society or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Following the Mass, a reception will take place at the "Fallsview" Family Reception Center.
