KOOPMANS, MR. FOLKERT - The death of Mr. Folkert Koopmans, husband of Muriel (Yorke) Koopmans occurred suddenly on February 27, 2004. Born in Friesland Holland, he arrived in Canada in 1950 and lived in Ontario most of his life. He retired from Ford Motors Company in 1989. Upon moving to Saint John, NB in 2001 he resided on Loch Lomond Road with his wife Muriel. He was the son of William and Hilje Koopmans. Besides his wife, Folkert is survived by one son William Koopmans (Companion Heather) of Vancouver; two daughters Sheila Parkin of Toronto, Lynda Rooke (Brian) of Burlington, Ontario; two grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Koopmans of Ontario; daughter-in-law Karen Koopmans of Ontario; three sisters; two brothers of Holland; two brothers-in-law Raymond Yorke (Georgina) of Hardings Point and Victor Yorke (Rose Ann) of Black River; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Syjtia in Holland. By request there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would appreciate donations made to the charity of the donor's choice.
