Son of the late Fraser and Margaret (Best) Thorburn of McAdam, NB. Husband of the late Doris (Hay) Thorburn. Survived by two daughters, Alicia Leger (Alonzo), Riverview, NB, Sheila Scott (Shane), Fredericton, NB, three sons, Ted (Caroline) and Frank Thorburn, McAdam, NB, David Thorburn (Anne) Fredericton, NB, grandchildren, Shawn, Jeff, Sarah and Kyle Thorburn, Marc and Angela Leger (Stephane) and Matthew, Nathan and Tyler Scott, two great grandchildren, Alexandre and Maya Cyr, one brother, Harry, Mission, BC, three sisters, Gertrude Glancy, Seattle, WA, Jessie McFarlane, Hamilton, ON, and Martha Butland, Saint John, NB, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Toby, Bill, Howard and Stanley. Doug was retired from Canada Customs and a veteran of World War II. Funeral service will be held from St. Pauls United Church, Saunders Road, McAdam, NB on Friday, March 5, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Bob McDowell officiating. Visiting at the church on Thursday March 4, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Interment at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, N.B.. Pallbearers are Marc Leger, Kyle Thorburn, Steve Thorburn, Tom Thorburn, Raymond Thorburn and Rick Miles.
