Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Center on Monday, July 7, 2008, in the presence of his loving family, Edward Metcalfe, aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents: James and Lizzie Metcalfe; two sets of twin siblings and brother-in-law Ronald Shepard. Leaving to mourn are his wife of 46 years Jessie Metcalfe (nee Fagan); sons: Glenn (Lori) and Fred (Stephanie); grandchildren: Ian, Jillian, Luke and Jane; sister Lila Sheppard; sisters-in-law: Ella Newman (Cecil) and Rachel; brothers-in-law: Reg Fagan (Violet) and Les Fagan; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday from 10-12 noon, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 10-12 noon. Funeral service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Topsail Anglican Cemetery.
